NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A K-9 was called in to search a North Haven home, and the dog was able to find a package containing 60 bags of heroin.
Neighbors alerted police to suspicious activity at the single family rental home on Monroe Street back in August, and on Monday, officers executed a search and seizure warrant.
North Haven's narcotic K-9, Koda, was used to search the home. During the search, Koda found a package that was wrapped with tape and sealed in a zip-locked bag. Inside the package, police found 60 individual bags of heroin.
The home's resident, 42-year-old Christopher Riccitelli, was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to distribute narcotics.
He was held on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden's Superior Court on October 4.
