MILFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Seymour man has been arrested after police say he falsely shouted that an armed person was in a mall restroom.
Anthony Spinelli was charged Monday with falsely reporting an incident, carrying a dangerous weapon, first-degree breach of peace, second-degree breach of peace and weapons in a motor vehicle.
Police say the 53-year-old Spinelli left bathroom in the Westfield Connecticut Post Mall on Monday evening and yelled that a person inside the bathroom was armed with a gun. Police checked the bathroom, but found no one who was armed.
Spinelli was found in another section of the mall. Police say he had an illegal knife. A search of Spinelli's vehicle found a large knife, a wooden baton, an ax and a BB gun.
