AVON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Hartford man was arrested Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager he met on Facebook.
According to police, 24-year-old Israel Gomez met a 14-year-old girl during the month of September on Facebook. Over the course of at least four months, Gomez had several conversations over Facebook and the telephone with the teen.
Then on December 20th, Gomez drove from Hartford to Avon, where he picked up the teen, drove to a parking lot in Avon, and allegedly sexually assaulted her, police said.
Gomez, of 586 Franklin Ave., Apt. 2N, Hartford, was arrested for risk of injury to a minor, second-degree sexual assault, and use of a computer to entice a minor.
Bond was set at $250,000.
