NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A New Haven was arrested in connection with a murder that happened in the city two weeks ago.
On September 18th, police responded to the Church Street South housing complex on a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they found a gunshot victim inside the front vestibule of apartment 9B, in the Malcolm Court section of the complex.
The victim was later identified as 29-year-old Joseph Mirvil, of New Haven. Mirvil was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
After investigating, on October 1st, police obtained an arrest warrant for 20-year-old John Claudio, of New Haven. Claudio was located on Carlisle St. and arrested without incident.
He was charged with murder and held on a $1 million bond.
