MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man is accused of tying up two 11-year-old girls and sexually assaulting them.
It is a quiet side street just off of the main drag in Meriden. Police say the house located about a block from the police station is where a man lured in two young girls, tied them up and made them watch adult material and then did the unspeakable.
"It was my 11-year-old daughter, not nobody elses, my 11-year-old daughter so the law has to do what the law has to do," said Virgina, the victim's mother.
And they did. Police say they have arrested 47-year-old Earl Mann and charged him with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, fourth-degree sex assault and unlawful restraint. Both girls were 11-year-olds and one of the girls lives right on his street.
"A pedophile in the neighborhood. I feel like we all should be notified. You know, for this man that I thought was my neighbor, that he was okay to try and play house with little girls. It's not okay," said Virginia.
News 8 did some digging and looking into the past of Mann. He was not on the Connecticut sex offender registry.
"Never thought in a million years but I guess you can't trust nobody. You can't. Now I keep my daughter under lock and key . She has to stay in the house at all times unless I'm outside," said Virginia.
"I have no idea what to say for that. It's absolutely astonishing and absolutely terrible," said Victor Walsh of Meriden.
