WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A West Haven man was arrested for stabbing his sister's boyfriend during a dispute over living arrangements Sunday.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m., at 73 Savin Park.

Police said Dorian Villoverde, 24, who lived at the residence, did not approve of his sister's boyfriend staying at the house. The boyfriend confronted Villoverde in his bedroom in an attempt to talk about the disagreement and a fight broke out. Villoverde stabbed the boyfriend in his lower abdomen, causing a lacerated liver.

The man was taken to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police were able to recover the weapon used in the assault.

Villoverde was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

He was held on $25,000 bond.
