Man assaulted and robbed at gunpoint at casino hotel

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (WTNH)-- A man was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint at the Mohegan Sun Casino Hotel, Saturday morning.
Police say the victim was approached by the suspect as he exited the elevator to the 19th floor of the hotel, around 6:02 AM.
The victim told police that the suspect entered the hotel elevator with him in the lobby, and exited with him on the 19th floor. The suspect then struck the victim from behind as he walked toward his room, and displayed a dark colored semi automatic handgun.
Police say the suspect then demanded money and struck the victim in the head and face with the handle of the handgun.
The suspect later fled back into the elevator and ran on foot through the lobby, from the casino.
Police describe the suspect as a 6 foot, white male, with a thin build, wearing a black jacket and jeans.
The incident remain under investigation.
