WESTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man was arrested after backing his vehicle into one police cruiser and then punching out the window of another Friday.
The incident happened on Route 53, south of the Weston town line.
Redding Police officers responded to Route 53 to assist Weston police with what was reported as two evading motor vehicle crashes.
Upon arrival, Redding police located the suspect vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The suspect then proceeded to back his vehicle into one of the police cruisers, with the police officers inside, causing significant front end damage.
When police then attempted to take the suspect, Jaime I. Gonzalez of Bridgeport, into custody he punched out a side window of another Redding police cruiser.
After a brief foot chase, the suspect was eventually subdued by the use of a Taser.
The suspect was then taken into custody.
Police said the Redding officer was shaken up, but was not injured.
