TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Shelton man was arrested for allegedly selling synthetic marijuana and bath salts.
On Wednesday around noon, police arrested Ronald W. Scheibel, 59, of 41 Soundview Drive in Shelton following a lengthy and still ongoing investigation.
Police say Scheibel was stopped in his 2009 Lexus SUV RX 350 near the 200 block of Main Street in Torrington.
Scheibel was in possession of over 100 pouches of synthetic weed which was commercially packaged and ready for sale, over 12 containers of bath salts and over $1100 in cash.
All of the items were seized and police continue to investigate.
Police say Scheibel is a distributor of many convenience store items throughout Conn., including smokeless/electronic cigarettes, phone cards and vending machine products.
Scheibel’s Lexus was also seized and impounded by the Torrington Police Department.
Scheibel was charged with poss. controlled substances for synthetic marijuana and bath salts (Methylenedioxypryrovalerone), poss. controlled substances with intent to sell for syntetic marijuana and bath salts, and poss. controlled substance in school zone.
He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
