Man charged for domestic dispute

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 39-year-old Waterbury man was arrested on warrant for assault.

On Tuesday Edwin Lopez of 29 Union Street, Waterbury turned himself in on an active arrest warrant.

The warrant was for a domestic dispute between a former boyfriend and girlfriend on Dec. 27 on Rubber Ave, according to police.

During the argument Lopez allegedly tried to force the victim into his car and then pushed the victim down to the ground, police said.

Lopez was charged with breach of peace, second-degree unlawful restraint and third-degree assault.

A court date was set for Jan. 10 at Waterbury Superior Court. Lopez was held on a $10,000 bond.
