WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police say a man confessed to committing three robberies in two days in Waterbury and Wolcott.

Evon Rodriguez, 27, was arrested after police say he confessed to holding up three convenience stores in Waterbury and Wolcott on Sunday, July 8 and Monday, July 9.

The first robbery occurred at 3 a.m. Sunday morning at the 7-11 on Baldwin Street, the second was at 4:30 a.m. at the Exxon at 474 Bank Street, and the third happened at 11:30 p.m. Monday night at the Mobil Mart on Watertown Avenue.

In all three cases, the suspect threatened the clerk with what looked like a black handgun and took off with cash.

A tip identified the suspect as Rodriguez. Police say when they found him, he had a black BB gun, which they believed he used in the robberies.

He was arrested and charged with robbery and larceny. He is being held on $500,000 bond.
