MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Meriden man was arrested after a police officer spotted him walking down the street with a samurai sword.
Police say 55-year-old Robert Rivera was spotted carrying the weapon as he walked along State Street Tuesday night.
Rivera told officers he had just bought the sword as a gift and was taking it home.
Rivera was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and breach of peace. He was released on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear in court on August 31.
