Man charged with murdering his father

FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Florida man has been arrested on charges that he killed his father in Farmington back in 2008.
Michael Elliott Whilby, 38, was arrested and charged with the murder of his father, 66-year-old Evans R. Whilby on January 16, 2008.
Whilby was found dead at the bottom of a flight of stairs in his home on Dunne Wood Court.
He was supposed to meet his wife in Las Vegas, but when he didn't arrive, she called Michael Whilby to go check on him. Whilby called police after he found his father's body.
At the time, the death was ruled an accident.
Then on June 29, 2012, police in Melbourne Beach, Florida contacted Farmington police after Whilby allegedly confessed to killing his father by pushing him down the stairs.
Whilby was transported back to Farmington to face arraignment. He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
