ORANGE, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two men were arrested on drug and gun charges at a New Years gathering.
Shortly after 12:00 a.m. on Jan. 1, police received a complaint of numerous gunshots in the area of 848 Derby Ave.
Officers were met by a witness who said a male attending a small party at the first floor apartment had fired a handgun into the air outside of the apartment numerous times.
When officers ordered the party-goers on the first floor outside so they could begin an investigation they were told two people had locked themselves in a bathroom.
Police say drugs were in plain view on top of a hamper when the occupants came out of the bathroom.

After investigating, police say Jonathan Edwards, 24, of 26 Ryan Ave, Stratford, admitted to firing his handgun 14 times into the air on the front lawn. He led police to the handgun, a .40 caliber Sig Sauer P250, that was located in a closet.
