NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- New Haven police are investigating the death of a man in the Newhallville section of town, and whether it's related to a report of a woman who was pistol whipped.
Around 2:45 a.m. police received a call about shots fired on Bassett Street where they found the body of 32-year-old Andre Williamson. Police say he had been shot several times.
Police are investigating his death as a homicide.
On April 9, Williamson was the victim of a shooting on Shelton Avenue in New Haven. He was treated for a gunshot to the abdomen. Police said he shared little information with officers and the shooter has not been arrested.
Anyone with information is asked to call the New Haven Police at 203-946- 6304 or the Tips hotline at 203-946-6296.
At about the same time police had another crime scene on Munson Street. A woman found in a Mercedes Benz said she was pistol whipped on Ferry Street. She told police she didn't know how she got to Munson St. Her name was not released.
