MADISON, Conn. (AP) - The lawyer for a man whose ex-wife was found slain in Madison two weeks ago says his client has given DNA and hair samples to police to comply with a search warrant.
Attorney Hugh Keefe tells the New Haven Register that 61-year-old Jeffrey Hamburg of West Hartford provided the samples Wednesday, hours after he missed a required appearance in New Haven Family Court and filed for bankruptcy.
Hamburg has not been charged or named as a suspect in the death of his ex-wife, 48-year-old Barbara Hamburg, who was found slain in a yard in a beachfront neighborhood on March 3.
Police have said they wanted to question Jeffrey Hamburg, and several officers went to the family court Wednesday. Hamburg was supposed to appear for an ongoing child support case that involved Barbara Hamburg.
