HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- The 18-year-old victim of a shooting outside apartments on South Prospect Street in Hartford has died.
Shots were fired around 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Sheldon Oak Apartments while neighbors say children were playing outside.
Neighbors say two men had been arguing and then it turned violent. Police say the victim was shot in the side and the other man took off.
An EMT picked up the victim, who was on a patch of grass near the sidewalk.
The victim has not been publicly identified. The search is on for the shooter.
It was the second shooting in Hartford within 24 hours. Shortly after midnight a man flagged down Hartford police. He'd been shot in the leg.
The victim told police he attended a party on what he thought was part of the Trinity College Campus when he got into an argument and was shot. Further investigation revealed the party was actually off campus at a home on Zion Street.
The unidentified victim was treated and released from the hospital. Right now, police don't have a suspect; the victim wasn't able to give a description of the shooter.
