WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police in Windsor are investigating after a man jumped over a convenience store counter and stole $100 from the register Wednesday night.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., at the CVS located at 484 Windsor Ave.

Police said the suspect got in line for the checkout and attempted to purchase a Snicker's, however, the price was over $1, which he claimed he didn't have. The suspect left the store, telling clerk that he had money in the car.

The suspect then returned to the store, got back in line, and asked where candy priced below $1 was located.

The clerk directed the man to the proper isle. When the man returned to the check out, he handed the clerk $1 for fireballs. As the clerk opened the register, the suspect hopped on to the counter and reached into the cash drawer, grabbing money.

After snatching approximately $100 the suspect ran out of the store and headed east across the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 5'6" tall, thin build, with black hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a Boston Red Sox fitted baseball cap.

No one was injured during the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Windsor Police Department at 860-688-5273 extension 521.
