BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Prosecutors say they're recommending a 35-year prison sentence for a Bridgeport man who has pleaded guilty to killing another man to steal his Rolex watch, which turned out to be knockoff worth $5.

The Connecticut Post reports that 21-year-old Antwone Sharpe pleaded guilty to felony murder and other crimes Thursday in Bridgeport Superior Court. A second man charged in the killing, 19-year-old Lawrence Perry, awaits trial.

Police say the two men fatally shot 35-year-old Darrell Geyer in his Bridgeport apartment on April 13, 2011. Authorities say Geyer's wife found him dead in a chair with their 14-month-old daughter curled up on his chest.

Police say Geyer's fake Rolex was missing and they later caught Perry's girlfriend wearing it.

Sharpe is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 26.
