POMFRET, Conn. (WTNH) -- A convenience store was robbed Friday night when a masked man displayed a knife and demanded money, police say.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday, police received a 911 call reporting a robbery at the Xtra Mart Convenience store at 19 Putnam Road.
A male suspect wearing cloth his face displayed a machete knife and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money, which he put in his backpack.
The suspect fled on foot in an easterly direction. He was described as white male in his late teens or early 20's, about 5'10" and slim build. He was also wearing a gray hoodie and a dark-colored ball cap.
No one was injured in the robbery.
