WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A New Haven man was arrested for robbing a gas station earlier this month.
The robbery occurred around 4 a.m. on August 18th.
Police said a Hispanic man approached the locked front door of the CITGO Food Bag gas/convenience store, located at 259 Quinnipiac St.
When the clerk buzzed the door to let the man into the store, he pulled a mask over his face and demanded money. He proceeded to shoulder bump the clerk out of his way, grab cash from the register and a box of 15 cartons of cigarettes.
The suspect left the store and drove away in a blue hatchback vehicle. Both the vehicle and the suspect were captured on the store's video surveillance.
The day after the robbery, a clerk working at the Parkway Mobil gas station, located at 1001 North Colony Rd. told police that just before 4 a.m. on August 18th, an individual pulled into the store parking lot in a blue hatchback vehicle. The individual then exited the vehicle, pulled a mask over his face and attempted to enter the store. When he discovered the door was locked, he got back into the vehicle and headed south on North Colony Rd., towards the CITGO Food Bag gas/convenience store.
On August 24th, police issued an arrest warrant for 40-year-old Christopher Marmol, of 369 Shelton Ave., New Haven. He was taken into custody later in the day.
