Man robs Winsted store, then robs bank

WINSTED, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man was arrested Monday for allegedly robbing a bank and a convenience store in Winsted.

According to police, around 6:15 a.m., the unarmed man held up the Cumberland Farms, located at 109 Main St., getting away with $80.

Around 9:15 a.m., the suspect then held up the TD Bank, located at 200 New Hartford Rd., in the Ledgebrook Plaza. He fled the scene with $450.

The suspect was captured a short time later as he was emerging from the woods, not far from the bank.

The money was recovered by police.
