NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) — A man who killed a woman and stuffed her body in a freezer in 2010 has been sentenced to 28 and a half years in prison.

Fifty-two-year-old Luis Otero was sentenced Friday in New London Superior Court.

In August he pleaded no contest to a murder charge. He told police he killed his Groton housemate, 50-year-old Madeline Brisson, after she talked about having a sexual relationship with his daughter.

Police say the woman's body was found in the chest-style freezer in a home on the Gold Star Highway.

The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled that Brisson died of blunt traumatic injuries and asphyxia.
