NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)-- A man was shot three times in New Haven, early Saturday morning.
Police say an officer was patrolling Whalley Avenue when he heard several gunshots at East Ramsdell Street, around 12:26 AM. He then located the victim of three gunshot wounds in the 7-Eleven market parking lot.
The victim was shot in the shoulder, right leg, and upper arm.
Detectives are investigating the possibility that the shooting followed a party at a nearby hotel. Several people who attended the party have been detained and are being questioned.
The victim was taken to Yale New Haven hospital by ambulance, where he is being treated for his injuries.
Police say he was conscious and alert, but in surgery.
The incident is still under investigation.
