Man steals ammo from cop

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CTPost.com) -- A Bridgeport man broke into a police officer's personal vehicle on Thursday and stole ammunition, jewelry and other items, before fleeing on his bicycle, authorities said.
The suspect -- 19-year-old Alexis Lopez-Ortiz -- was arrested after officers spotted him peddling down Boston Avenue, according to a police incident report.
Juan Gonzalez, the officer whose sport utility vehicle was broken into, was working an overtime detail at the Price Rite at 164 Boston Avenue at the time of the burglary, police said.
Witnesses inside the store say they saw a suspicious man circling the parking lot on his bicycle, looking into car windows. The man, later identified as Lopez-Ortiz, stopped beside Gonzalez's red Dodge Ram and pried the vehicle's door open, police said.
