PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man threatened to shoot his girlfriend and a neighbor Saturday night, police say.
At approximately 10:16 p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to a dispute in the Central Village section of Plainfield.
During the incident, Steven A. Meronek, 60, loaded a 12-gauge marine-type flare gun. It is reported that he then proceeded to threaten to shoot his girlfriend and a visiting neighbor in the head.
The neighbor was able to flee the residence and call police.
Meronek was taken into custody and was charged with disorderly conduct, two counts of threatening in the second degree, two counts of reckless endangerment, criminal use of a firearm and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Meronek is being held on bond at the Plainfield Police Department and is scheduled to be arraigned at Danielson Superior Court on Monday, July 2nd.
