SOMERS, Conn. (WTNH) -- The Webster Bank in Somers was robbed around midday Saturday, police say.
Police received numerous 911 calls and bank alarms from the Webster Bank at 637 Main Street in Somers, shortly after 11:15 a.m. Saturday.
According to witnesses and bank surveillance, a male suspect ran into the bank, jumped over the counter and demanded money from the tellers.
The suspect jumped back over the counter and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He did not show or appear to have any weapons.
He is described as a white male in his early 20's. He was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt, a white and blue bandana over his face, sunglasses, blue jeans and wore black gloves with white stripes.
The suspect fled from a rear parking lot and is believed to have driven away in a dark-colored sedan. He traveled northbound on Battle Street and surrounding Connecticut and Massachusetts police were notified.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the robbery.
The Connecticut Banker's Reward Association is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
Anyone with information on the robbery, including details shortly before or after 11:15 a.m. in the vicinity of the bank, is asked to call Troop C at (860) 896-3200.
