Man with gun robs 7-11 in Andover

ANDOVER, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man with a handgun robbed a 7-11 Convenience Store early Wednesday morning, police said.

Police say that the robbery happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at the 7-11 at 380 Route 6.

A man carrying a handgun entered the store and demanded cash from the register. The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash on foot in a northerly direction on Route 6.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, between 5'6" and 5'8" and about 145 pounds. He was wearing a black long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers with two white stripes.

The weapon is described as a black semi-automatic handgun. No one was injured in the incident.
