Man with knife robs convenience store

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man, armed with a knife, robbed the Best Mart convenience store on Saturday evening, police say.

Police said that the incident happened around 6 p.m. on Saturday, at the Best Mart, which is located at 275 Central Avenue.

Rodney Hagins, 40, grabbed the store clerk and demanded money. Hagins was armed with a knife at the time.

Hagins stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and then fled from the store.

He was located a short time later and he was charged with 1st degree robbery and 6th degree larceny.

He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

No one was injured in the incident.
