Mother, sons arrested in drug bust

Police say they were growing pot and mushrooms

Mansfield, Conn. (WTNH - State police have charged a Mansfield mother and her three sons in what they are calling a large scale marijuana grow operation and mushroom lab.

Following an extensive undercover investigation, state police executed a search warrant at the Storrs Road home on Thursday.

Police seized about 30 pot plants, hundreds of mushrooms, and various chemical components used to grow the two.

Facing various drug charges are:
48-year old Judy Richard
28-year old Justin Richard
22-year old Benjamin Richard
17-year old juvenile offender

Police were able to charge all four because they say the rooms with the drugs were all open and accessible to anyone in the home.

All were arraigned at Rockville Superior Court today.  Each were able to post a $25,000 bond.
