REDDING, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Maryland man taken into custody for what he's accused of doing at his former home in Redding.
Police say he used hidden cameras to record sexual encounters with women, without them knowing about it.
Redding police say 57-year-old George Teskey hid a video camera in his bedroom and secretly filmed his sexual encounters with women. In June, police say his girlfriend discovered the tape and called police.
"These were all consensual sexual encounters, what the women did not realize is that he was videotaping them," Redding Police Chief Douglas Fuchs said.
Teskey currently lives in Maryland, but before he left the state, he lived on Side Cut Road in Redding, where police say the acts of voyeurism took place. Officers let each victim know what had happened.
"Shock and dismay. Our officer did a great job speaking with the victims to let them know what they found and what they were unknowingly a victim of," Fuchs said.
Teskey hasn't lived in Redding for more than a year. Police say during his time there, he videotaped four women. When neighbors found out, they were shocked.
"Raising kids, when you hear something like this it's really scary," said Amala Hold. "I have girls and you really wonder who lives around you. It's really scary."
While she doesn't know Teskey, she does know one of his ex-girlfriends.
"He rents the house out right now, so we don't know who he is or we haven't heard anything about him except for the lady who used to live behind us dated him and then she didn't have good things to say about him," Hold said. "So that's all I know about him."
Teskey will face a judge in September.
