Mass. man meeting minor for sex arrested in CT

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) - A Massachusetts man has been arrested in Connecticut after communicating with an undercover state trooper online who was pretending to be an underage girl as part of an ongoing investigation.

Kiran Kumar Moluguri,31,  thought he was talking to an underage female via the internet when he arranged plans to meet up with her in Meriden for sex.

Moluguri was arrested today when he arrived in Meriden to have sex with the underage girl.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation regarding online accounts used by the suspect. 

Several items were seized from Moluguri's vehicle, and Massachusetts authorities will be investigating his home.

Moluguri is being charged with criminal attempt at sexual assault, criminal attempt at impairing the morals of a minor and other related charges.

He was processed in Bethany where he is being held on a $75,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
