McDonald's employee robbed in parking lot

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating a robbery that happened in a McDonald's parking lot in Newington Monday morning.

The incident occurred just before 10 a.m., at the McDonald's located at 2375 Berlin Turnpike.

A McDonald's employee told police he was approaching his vehicle when two men, dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks, physically attacked him and then fled the scene on foot with the victim's cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects leaving the area of the crime in an older, tan-colored sedan.

The employee suffered minor injuries.
