PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A BP Gas Station was robbed at gunpoint Saturday evening, police said.
Police responded to the gas station, located at 309 Putnam Road in the Wauregan section of Plainfield around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
The clerk reported that a male individual had robbed the store and fled on foot. That male suspect was said to have displayed a handgun during the robbery.
Police say they stopped a vehicle in the area of the scene. Two occupants of that vehicle were breathing heavily and sweating profusely. They said they were going to check on a friend who had been robbed.
Two of the subjects were searched and one of them, Michael Brewer, 21, was found be carrying a large amount of cash. The other subject, Benjamen Langlois, 20, was covered in dirt. The two men, along with the juvenile driver of the vehicle, were taken into custody.
A subsequent investigation revealed that Brewer entered the gas station with a handgun. Langlois and the juvenile were both involved in the robbery and getaway attempt.
All three subjects were charged with 1st degree robbery, 2nd degree larceny and breach of peace. Langlois and Brewer were held on a $50,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, October 9th. The juvenile was released.
The investigation leading up to the arrest included multiple responding officers and a K-9 unit who used multiple pieces of evidence to track down and correctly identify the suspects.
