Meriden, Conn. (WTNH) - Police have made an arrest in a robbery at bank branch in Meriden.
It happened shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday at the People's branch at Stop & Shop on Broad St.
"He handed the teller a note, advising the teller it was a robbery. Teller subsequently handed over approximately two-thousand dollars," explained Sergeant Glenn Milslagle. "The male fled on foot."
Sgt. Milslagle told News 8 officers immediately responded to the area, "set up a perimeter, obtained a good description of the individual" and the suspect was captured a short distance from the store.
Police dogs reportedly assisted in the search for the suspect.
All the money was recovered, News 8 was told.
The robbery suspect has been identified the man as 25-year-old Joshua White.
White was charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Larceny 3rd Degree.
He is being held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court Tuesday.
Police say there were no injuries in the hold-up.
