Middletown, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are searching for a man wanted for robbing a Middletown bank Saturday morning.

The robbery took place around 9 a.m., at the Bank of America located at 895 Washington St.

Police that were patrolling the area arrived within seconds, but the lone suspect had already fled on foot towards Price Chopper.

According to police, the suspect handed the teller a note that implied that he had a gun and demanded cash. The teller then gave the suspect cash, which he placed in a black back pack before fleeing.

Police said the suspect appears to be a white man in his 40's, approximately 5'11" tall, medium build, brown hair with some graying, and the beginnings of a brown/gray beard.

After using a K-9 officer to track the suspect, police said it appears that the suspect fled to a waiting vehicle.

No one was injured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Middletown Police Department at 860-344-3200.
