SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Stratford man allegedly tried to break into a Shelton home, but was spotted by a neighbor, police said.
According to police, 35-year-old David Sullivan, of 906 Judson Rd., Stratford, was arrested after an alert neighbor of a house on Walnut Tree Hill Rd. saw Sullivan attempting to break into a home.
Police said the neighbor was home when Sullivan rang her doorbell, but she did not answer. Then her dog began to bark at Sullivan and he walked next door, police said.
The neighbor then observed Sullivan trying to force open the next door neighbor's front door, so she called police.
Upon arrival, police observed Sullivan and determined he was attempting to force open the rear door and a rear window.
Sullivan was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal attempt at burglary, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass.
He is being held on $25,000 bond.
