Bridgeport, Conn. (WTNH) - A New York man accused of killing his wife is now back in the city after his arrest in Bridgeport.

32-year-old Jordan Hawes of Astoria went into NYPD custody after he waived extradition.  He was transported back to the city by the 114th Precinct Detective Squad.

According to the New York Daily News, Hawes was arrested on February 4 by Bridgeport police after they spotted his wife's car at an I-95 rest stop.  He told police that he did something wrong and he surrendered himself.

Hawes was captured on surveillance at a pawn shop days after the killing trying to pawn his wife's wedding band and wedding rings, along with other pieces of jewelry, according to the paper.

If he is convicted, he faces life in prison.
