Danielson (AP) - A Connecticut man accused of breaking into his former girlfriend's to fatally stab her has turned down a plea deal.

A prosecutor said Thursday that 46-year-old Roger Fenner will be going to trial for murder in the Jan. 12, 2007, death of Laurie Courtemarche.

Police say Fenner killed the woman at her Plainfield, home where three young children, two of her own, were staying that night.

Fenner was arrested after police received several 911 calls about a break-in at a home on Pleasant Street. Police found the woman inside and began a search.

A state police dog led police to a road near the scene of the killing, where police captured Fenner. He had self-inflicted wounds.

Fenner remains in custody on a $1.5 million bond.
