Bridgeport (AP) - Police in Connecticut say they seized 30 pounds of marijuana
when they busted up a drug smuggling operation that was sending pot
to various addresses in California.
Bridgeport police and federal drug agents say the ring was
run by 30-year-old Leon Ferguson of Derby. He was charged earlier
this week with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. He's
being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
Police say DEA agents on Wednesday intercepted a package
containing 16 pounds of marijuana when it was being delivered to a
home in Bridgeport. Two women were arrested, accused of accepting
marijuana shipments for Ferguson.
Another 14 pounds of pot were seized from another city home.
Ferguson could not be reached Friday. Online court records
don't list an attorney for him.
