Shelton (AP) - Shelton police say a suspected bank robber got his inspiration from ad for a movie about infamous 1930s bank robber John Dillinger.

Twenty-six-year-old Shawn Gullberg is accused of robbing two banks and telling police that a commercial advertising the movie "Public Enemies," gave him the idea for how to make money for drugs quickly.

Police say the robberies of a Wachovia Bank on June 13 and a Bank of America branch last Friday were "clearly drug-related."

Gullberg was on probation at the time of the Shelton bank robberies. He had served time on theft and burglary charges.

Gullberg, who is represented by a public defender, is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail, and is due in court July 27.
