Man pulled from car with gunshot wound

    New Haven (WTNH) - A young black male was taken out of a car with a gunshot wound on State Street outside of WTNH News Channel 8's station Wednesday afternoon.

    The unidentified man was removed from the passenger seat by emergency medical personnel. He was seen clutching his chest.

    The victim was shot in the area of Ferry Street and Peck Street.

    Police say the victim is en route to Yale New Haven Hospital.

    Police were interviewing the driver of the car at 1:24 p.m.

    No other information including names were immediately available.
