More evidence sought in Wesleyan murder

Middletown (WTNH) - Investigators are still gathering evidence in the murder case against Stephen Morgan, the man accused of gunning down a Wesleyan student inside the campus bookstore earlier this year.

Morgan, 29, was in court for the pre-trial hearing at Middlesex Superior Court. The judge postponed the case until December 15th so that investigators can review e-mail accounts.

21-year old Johanna Justin-Jinich and Morgan met at New York University (NYU) back in 2007. NYU officials say Justin-Jinich filed a harassment complaint against Morgan, but she later dropped the complaint. But court documents filed last week show that she had changed her e-mail address to keep someone at NYU from finding her, though that person has not yet been identified.

Morgan's journals, which were found shortly after the May 6th murder, contained chilling references to Justin-Jinich including, "Kill Johanna. She must die" and "I think it's ok to kill Jews and go on a killing spree."

Those words put the campus on lockdown and the Middletown community on alert as Morgan evaded police for over 24 hours following the shooting.

Morgan has already pled not guilty.
