New Haven (WTNH) - Police in three states are keeping an eye out for what appears to be a serial bank robber, and they want to question one woman in particular.
Police think a woman named Heather Brown may have robbed six banks in six days last week, and they are wondering if she will be back at it today.
Police believe Brown held up banks in Westerly, Rhode Island, West Springfield, Massachusetts, as well as Montville, Middletown, and East Hartford in Connecticut. The most recent happened Saturday at the Connecticut Bank and Trust in Windsor.
Brown is a white woman in her 30's. What she usually does is pass the teller a note that says she has either a gun or a bomb, and the teller hands over the money. She doesn't actually have a gun or a bomb, but the tellers are trained to cooperate just in case.
There's a rumor going around on the internet that Brown is giving the stolen money away to the poor. So far there's no evidence to back up the rumors that she's some kind of Robin Hood.
Brown is a career criminal. News Channel 8 has her rap sheet with its 57 entries.
