A Norwich man is under arrest following a weekend bank robbery.
Mark S. Dallaire, 50, of Old Pond Lane, is expected to be arraigned in Norwich Superior court today.
He is charged with robbery and other crimes in connection with a hold-up at the People's United bank branch at 42 Town St. this past Saturday. Police say the robber claimed to have a gun and demanded money from the bank tellers. That robber fled in a red compact car with two bumper stickers.
Tuesday evening Norwich police were alerted to an erratic driver on Boswell Ave. The description of the car matched the one in the robbery.
Police arrested the driver on motor vehicle charges, and then after an investigation added the bank robbery charges.
Dallaire is accused of robbery, larceny and threatening, along with motor vehicle charges. He was being held on more than $150,000 bond.
