Coke, cash largest seizure in history

Stamford (WTNH) - Two men were arrested after a major drug seizure in Stamford on Thursday.

Eduardo Taveres, 30, of Stamford and Victor Marte, 26, of Bronx, N.Y., were arrested and both face charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell after 37 kilograms of cocain and $1 million in cash were found in an apartment affiliated with the men.

Beyond the cocaine and money, four vehicles were also seized including a 2010 Mercedes E550 and a 2008 Porsche Cayenne.

Both men were held overnight on a $5 million bond and were due in court today.

This is the largest seizure of cash and one of the largest seizures of drugs in Stamford Police Department's history.
