NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A Norwalk woman is facing sentencing for stealing more than $400,000 from her former employer.

Roberta Davis is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday in federal court in New Haven. Prosecutors say she pleaded guilty to wire fraud stemming from a scheme to defraud her former employer.

Authorities say Davis, while employed by Theatre Projects Consultants of Norwalk, wrote about $349,000 worth of checks made payable to herself and tried to make it appear as though each check was made out to a vendor.

Prosecutors say Davis also admitted using the company's American Express account to charge about $59,000 in personal expenses on the corporate cards of people working at the company.

Authorities say Davis charged extensive personal travel for her and her family members, gas, clothing and jewelry.
