MONROE, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two New York men turned themselves into Monroe police to face financial crime and ID theft charges.
On July 10, police arrested Dequan Bates, 21, and Jerome Ravenell, 30, after they determined the pair were trying to use a fraudulent credit card at a Rite Aid in Monroe.
At the time, officers found a thumb drive in Ravenell's pocket, which contained files of track date from credit and debit cards. Police estimate 300 people were victims of ID theft and credit card fraud.
Monroe police obtained arrest warrants for the pair, who turned themselves in on Thursday.
Bates was charged with one count of accessory to commit unlawful completion or reproduction of a credit card.
Ravenell was charged with 10 counts of unlawful completion or reproduction of a credit card.
Both were held on $50,000 court set bonds. They will be arraigned in court on Thursday.
