ENFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Massachusetts State Police say a trooper assigned to the Russell Barracks was arrested for operating under the influence while off-duty.
According to a news release, 46-year-old Daniel Sheehan was arrested early Saturday morning in Enfield, Conn.
State Police spokesman David Procopio says Sheehan was found by an Enfield patrolman either sleeping or passed out behind the wheel of an SUV along a road. He was arrested after he was given a field sobriety test and posted $500 cash bail.
Sheehan is a 10-year state police veteran. He has been relieved of duty and will receive a duty status hearing this week. His arraignment in a Connecticut courtroom is set for July 30.
