Wolcott, Conn. (WTNH) - A clerk was attacked and robbed in Wolcott a day after a similar scene played out in Meriden.
Angel Paradis and Michael Chapman are behind bars and police are looking to see if the crimes are connected.
Police in two towns are concerned with the robberies that each left one victim injured.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to Wolcott police a man wielding a knife attacked the store clerk and robbed the BP gas station at 47 Wolcott Road.
"He came running out with the cash register, he took the whole cash register, went out the back and jumped into a jeep and drove off," said Chief Ed Stephens.
Police say they found the knife they believe Chapman used in the robbery inside the Jeep, along with a few other large knives.
Chapman and Paradis, the driver of the getaway vehicle, were tracked down to the Mobil station in Waterbury at the corner of Frost and Meridan Street.
"Officer Verone and Hammel spotted the vehicle," Chief Stephen said. "We were notified, we responded and that's where they were taken in to custody."
Police in Meriden are now preparing to question both suspects in regard to Tuesday's armed robbery on West Main Street. Both clerks were cut with a knife or sharp object during the robbery.
"We believe so, we have information that this was the same party," said Chief Stephen. "He does fit the description."
Chapman was taken to St. Mary's Hospital to be treated for a collapsed lung. Police say he was stabbed on Tuesday, but he never sought treatment. Once he is released from the hospital, police will hold him on a $500,000 bond.
Police are working to determine if both suspects might be involved in other unsolved crimes in the region.
